Deborah Hedley is a litigator with over a decade of experience trying cases in state and federal courts. Deborah has extensive experience litigating complex intellectual property, trade secret, and other commercial disputes for software and tech companies and other businesses. 

Some of Deborah’s recent successes include:

  • prevailing at trial on IP claims brought by a software company against a vendor; 

  • defeating a preliminary injunction brought by partners in a joint venture alleging breaches of fiduciary duties;

  • winning a dispositive motion establishing that the plaintiff lacked standing to sue an enterprise software company under a California statute;

  • obtaining injunctive relief against former employees of a publicly-traded company in a trade secrets case; 

  • prevailing at trial against a group of investors who defrauded their contractual partners; 

  • obtaining injunctive relief on claims of trademark infringement against a prior licensee. 

Deborah has an active pro bono practice, with an emphasis on women’s and children’s causes. In 2022, she first-chaired the successful representation of a Central American woman seeking asylum in the United States. Deborah was named a Rising Star in Business Litigation by Super Lawyers from 2018-2021. 

Before joining Tyz Law Group, Deborah was a litigator at Vedder Price in Los Angeles, and Jones Day in Silicon Valley. 

Prior to being perpetually home with her beloved family, Deborah was an avid traveler and has lived in 6 countries. She enjoys spending time outside and always has her nose in a(n) (audio)book.
