Sean Apple represents technology companies in intellectual property matters, including patent, copyright and trade secret litigation. His practice focuses on representing clients operating in the software, artificial intelligence, machine learning, games, AdTech, and social networking industries. Sean’s experience spans all aspects of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, motion practice, and strategy. Sean is also a patent attorney licensed to practice before the U.S.P.T.O. and the P.T.A.B. and has successfully prosecuted patents involving a wide variety of technologies. He is versed in multiple widely-used computer programming languages.

Prior to joining Tyz Law Group, Sean was an intellectual property attorney at Baker Botts LLP, where he practiced intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution.

Sean holds a J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Prior to law school, Sean was a research assistant at the University of Washington Department of Earth and Space Sciences, where he studied the near-infrared spectrum of the Saturn satellite Phoebe using data from the Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer on the Cassini orbiter. He also worked with spatial data and digital mapping applications as a visual data specialist at Google. He also earned his B.S. in Applied and Computation Mathematical Sciences - Engineering and Physical Science at the University of Washington.
