About Tyz Law Group

Tyz Law Group PC, a boutique intellectual property litigation firm, is looking to hire a responsive self-starter to lead the development of the Firm’s internal AI-assisted litigation tool.  We’re building AI that understands litigation from the inside out, and are looking for someone who can apply their technical know-how and software coding skills to litigation workflows and work product.  In this role, you will:

  • Shape a first-of-its-kind AI product in litigation;

  • Have meaningful project ownership;

  • Join a mission-driven culture: solve real problems that lawyers face daily.

Our team is comprised mostly of seasoned technology lawyers with deep subject matter expertise.  We deliver the impact, substantive capability, and quality of larger firms while offering the personalized attention of a small, agile team.  We are focused on delivering results, not billable hours, and we operate as a unified team with a single mission: delivering results for our clients.  We are looking for someone who wants to help us with that mission through technology.  If that sounds like a mission you can support, and you meet the following requirements, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do

As our Head of AI Product, you will work closely with the internal team and technology partners to architect, build, and maintain a custom AI system tailored to the needs of the legal team.

  • Lead technical development of our bespoke, scalable, AI platform for litigators using technologies such as NLP, LLMs (e.g., GPT), and legal-specific datasets.

  • Translate litigation workflows into technology, working collaboratively with the attorney team to identify pain points and design features that solve real problems for litigators.

  • Manage outsourced engineering team.

  • Fine-tune large language models on proprietary legal data to support secure, context-aware outputs.

  • Develop user-friendly interfaces or integrate the AI system into existing tools such as Microsoft Word, DMS, or legal research platforms.

  • Implement feedback loops and performance monitoring systems to continuously improve model outputs.

  • Ensure compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and data security standards required in legal practice.

  • Develop and maintain documentation and training materials to support internal adoption.

  • Maintain and make iterative improvements and feature enhancements to the platform.

  • Stay current on trends and advancements in legal AI, machine learning, and legal tech.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

  • Prior work building AI tools in the legal field, or other regulated industry.

  • Proven experience building and deploying AI/ML applications in natural language processing, proficiency in Python, and building in Azure.

  • Familiarity with large language models (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, Mistral), prompt engineering, and fine-tuning techniques.

  • Knowledge of vector databases, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), and embedding techniques.

Legal/Litigation Background:

  • Prior experience working as a litigation attorney preferred, would consider someone with prior litigation paralegal, litigation support engineer, LegalTech or e-discovery specialist experience.

  • Deep understanding of litigation workflows (research, analysis, writing discovery, motions, trial prep).

  • Ability to translate litigation experience into product features.

Vision & Leadership:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset; excited by early-stage product building.

  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats (engineering, product, strategy).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Track record of shipping products end-to-end.
