Aaron has more than fifteen years of experience litigating complex intellectual property, antitrust, securities, and commercial disputes. He has represented prominent technology and consumer goods companies in a wide range of matters, including patent, trade secret, copyright, trademark, monopolization, price-fixing, unfair business practices, white collar, corporate governance, consumer fraud, contract and class actions. Aaron is highly skilled in all facets of litigation and appeals.
Prior to teaming up with Ryan Tyz, Aaron spent over a decade as a litigator in the Silicon Valley offices of Big Law firms Howrey LLP and Fenwick & West LLP. During his Big Law tenure, Aaron led case strategy and execution to successfully resolve high-value intellectual property and commercial disputes and litigation-related threats to companies of all sizes. He routinely managed multiple complex litigations and investigations involving teams of lawyers and staff, coordinated and collaborated with key stakeholders and witnesses, and ensured successful and efficient resolution of matters within budget. He directed discovery, motion practice and trial preparation, drafted and successfully argued dispositive and discovery motions, and played critical roles in two jury trials, including the trial and appeal in Leegin Creative Leather Products, Inc. v. PSKS, Inc., which led to an historic United States Supreme Court decision overruling a 100 year old precedent that vertical price restraints were per se illegal under Section 1 of the Sherman Antitrust Act. Aaron has also counseled management about intellectual property, antitrust and contract issues, led mediations, and negotiated complex settlement agreements.
Before entering private practice, Aaron was a law clerk for The Honorable Peter A. Nowinski on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California in Sacramento, and as a research attorney for various Civil Law and Motion judges on the Santa Clara County Superior Court in San Jose. While in law school, Aaron served as an extern to the Honorable Marilyn Hall Patel of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco.
